Open AI announced access to the gpt-3.5-turbo model yesterday. This AI model is what powers the amazing ChatGPT product.
I’m happy to say that our WritersBlok AI content generation plugin now has full support for this model! All of the features can work with either gpt-3.5-turbo or text-davinci-003.
The Benefits of the gpt-3.5-turbo model
As I mentioned, this is the model that powers ChatGPT. Many people have tried ChatGPT and experienced the power behind this model. It’s a very good model for generative AI content and writing assistance, which is what WritersBlok is all about.
This new model is 10 times cheaper than text-davinci-003. This means that your credits will go much further now.
It also seems to generate better responses to prompts, giving you better content output.
The model will continue to be updated as new advancements are made.
Gpt-3.5-turbo is currently trained on data up to September 2021. Text-davinci-003 is trained up to June 2021.

How to upgrade
If you’re already using the plugin, simply log into your WordPress dashboard. Head over to the updates section, and update WritersBlok AI.
If you have not tried the plugin, click the “Get WritersBlok” button at the top of this page.
Once you have updated, you can go to the WritersBlok settings page and change your default model to gpt-3.5-turbo.
Troubleshooting
The plugn relies heavily on Javascript, which can get cached by the browser. If you experience any issues, like the new model not displaying there are a couple of things to try:
- Hold the shift key and refresh the page, this will clear the local browser cache
- If you use a caching plugin, you may have to clear that cache
- If you use a service like CloudFlare, you may need to clear that cache.
Many of the issues I’ve seen are caching issues, so try that first. If you still have problems, contact us.
